topics for site analysis

1. Draw the site plan out of google maps in scale 1/500. The slope towards the sea will be assumed to be 6%. Precision is not a requirement. Delivery of a DWG drawing and a rhino 3d model.

2. Analysis of the surrounding buildings, in terms of building heights and
facades, architectural styles. Create diagrams documenting the different styles and building heights. Create a map documenting the facades of the neighboring streets.

3. Analysis of the different functions in public and private space during day and night...summer-winter... what functions are there? what are missing...Create diagrams documenting the functions in the surrounding buildings, public outdoor spaces.

4. Analysis of the movements and streams... for cars and pedestrians during day- night, summer-winter.

5. Analysis of sun and wind circulation during summer-winter. Creation of sun study diagrams.

6. Historical review, with maps and history of the area in the past. 

7. Site model in 1/500 in one color or material. 

presentation of digital prototypes

Dear students,

I wanted to remind you that the presentation of the prototype we are supposed to do will take place on coming Thursday, the 24th of March at 1300h. There will be also a guest jury. Please prepare 2-4 pdf pages in landscape format explaining your subject of research, your design process and your manufacturing drawings,with diagrams, 3d images and photographs. You also need a title and bullet points describing your research topic and your approach.  Please use vector drawings for your diagrams and high resolution images for 3ds and photographs. The pdfs will be projected on the wall, so there is no need for a print out. Please place your pages in one single pdf file, named after your group.

In order to complete the workshop we would like to ask you to hand in the following until monday, march 7:

Data-DVD, including the following file structure:  

01_BOOKLET (soft spaces + title of your project, names on the cover + detailphoto as background (like poster!) / format DIN A5, landscape format - your documentation as PDF, 300dpi, CMYK) - 10-20 pages

02_PIX_PROCESS (photos of process, design models, in 300dpi, CMYK)

03_PIX_DIAGRAMS/DRAWINGS (diagrams, drawings, sketches etc.. as dwg, eps oder ai files)

04_PIX_FINAL INSTALLATION (photos of final installation, performative aspect (body? light experiments etc.) + detail photographs)

05_FILM/ EXTRAS (in case you have)

06_EXHIBITION_POSTER (as PDF, 300dpi)
